River Report: 212 CFS, Clear and Rolling

Canyon Dam has been releasing a steady 200-ish all week and the river is about as good as it gets right now — 212 CFS as of this morning's gauge reading, water clear to six feet, temperature 71°F at our ramp.
What that means for your float: tubes are moving ramp-to-fourth-crossing in about 2 hours 40 minutes, the rope swing pool is deep enough (it isn't always — ask before you jump, every year someone doesn't), and the little rapid at the horseshoe has enough push to be fun without flipping anybody's cooler.
Forecast says no rain through the weekend. Saturday will be busy; if you're coming, be here at 8 when the counter opens or after 1pm when the morning wave is already downstream.

July 4th Weekend: Reserve Ahead, Seriously

Every year we post this and every year 200 people show up at 11am on July 4th without a reservation and get turned away, and some of them are mad at us about it on Facebook. So, one more time, with feeling:
- June 29 – July 6, reservations are required. Phone or contact form. No walk-up guarantee.
- The lot hits capacity around 10:15am those days. Reserved floaters have guaranteed parking until noon.
- Weekday floats that week are half price before 10am — genuinely the best deal and the best river of the whole summer. Tuesday July 1st will be gorgeous and empty.
Book early, come early, float happy.
New Shuttle Stop at Rockin' R Crossing

Starting this season the shuttle loop adds a stop at the Rockin' R low bridge, between our usual third and fourth crossing pickups. This one's been requested for years — mostly by people who misjudged their float and wanted out early, and once, memorably, in a three-paragraph Facebook comment that mentioned my grandfather by name.
Buses hit the new stop roughly every 20 minutes on weekends, every 40 on weekdays. Look for the blue TX RIVER CO sign on the fence. If you're getting out there, have your wristband visible — it's how drivers know you're ours.
One more thing while I have you: the buses got their annual DOT inspection in April, all seven passed, and bus #3 finally got new seats. The kids who carved their initials into the old ones know who they are.
