River Tubing
The classic. Grab a tube at the counter, walk down our ramp, and float 2.5–3 hours to the fourth crossing where our bus picks you up. The stretch has three small rapids — enough to keep it interesting, tame enough for anyone who can hold onto a tube.
Backrest tubes cost a couple bucks more and your lower back will thank you. Cooler tubes are mandatory if you're bringing drinks (glass is banned on the river and Comal County will write tickets — cans and plastic only). River shoes are $6 to rent, or bring old sneakers. Flip-flops end up on the bottom of the river; we pull about a hundred a year out of the horseshoe.
Good to know: weekday mornings are half as crowded as Saturdays. If you want the river mostly to yourself, come Tuesday at 9am.
Raft Trips
Our six-person rafts run the same stretch as the tubes and they're the right call for mixed groups — grandparents, kids under 8, anyone who'd rather sit dry-ish and paddle occasionally. Dry bags come with every raft.
On weekdays you can hire a guide ($60 per raft) who does the paddling, knows where the herons nest, and will stop at the good gravel bar for a swim break. Weekends are self-paddle only because our guides are driving buses.
Kayak & Canoe
Sit-on-top kayaks (singles and tandems) and 17-foot aluminum canoes, rented by the half or full day from our dock. The upstream paddle toward the dam is calm, spring-cold and clear enough to watch bass under your boat — best before 10am, before the tubes wake up.
Full-day rentals can arrange a drop-off upstream at the second crossing and paddle back down at their own pace. Ask at the counter, it depends on flow that day.
Group Events
We've hosted church camps, family reunions, bachelor parties (we have opinions and a waiver for those), and every size of company outing up to 120 people. Groups over 20 get a dedicated check-in table, a reserved section of the lot, and one free trip leader spot per 15 people.
What we need from you: a headcount two weeks out, one signed waiver per person (digital link works), and a decision on the pavilion. The covered pavilion seats 80, has six grills and a walk-in cooler, and rents for $150 a day with any group booking.
